U Me aur Hum - Movie Review

If you like mushy mushy romance, sweet words, beautiful imaginative world, then this movie is for you. You shouldn’t miss it. That’s U Me aur Hum. Its about both of ‘Us’. Not individuality. A really good effort by first time director Ajay Devgan.

The movie goes on a storyline of a couple, meeting, getting married and facing reality written in fate. Ajay [Ajay] & Piya [Kajol] meets on a cruise. Ajay is a psychiatrist. And a happy go lucky guy wooing and partying with his friends, two couples. Piya is a waitress. Living in her dreamy world, when she gets time after serving people. Both get along and things goes on. Both get married, and twist in tale starts when Piya gets affected by Alzheimer. A disease in which patient forgets frequently even normal things. How does the couple face this situation is the second half.

Movie starts off with a very beautiful title sequence. Graphics so cute, clouds and sky. So sweet title song sung by Shreya Ghoshal. Really good song, words and theme. Though Vishal Bhardwaj has disappointed me in this flick, [only two songs are good]. The movie shows Ajay in 50 something age, trying to woo old woman that s kajol. And tells this story. [why this kind of flashback?? See for yourself].
And then beautiful………….aerial shots of sea and cruise. A very beautiful ride for eyes, seriously each shot on cruise is filmed so beautifully that we wish to be there. Helicopter cameras are used for aerial shots when the two falls in love. All those moments are picturised so mushily. Kajol’s dreamy world is so nice. Also in second half, white look is awesome. Kajol looks ravishing when she falls in love. Ajay does his stud role perfect. The song ‘Jee Le’ with salsa beats is also good. ‘dil dhakda’ and ‘phatte’ songs are total waste, and causes movie to be dragged. Very poor, vishal. Dialogues are always a highlight for Ajay. Here , its ‘U know something……’. Is a catch line for Ajay. Which gradually goes with Kajol. All dialogues are worth between Ajay & Piya.

Acting dept. is always on a hype, when these two actors get along. Ajay and Kajol performs with great chemistry. Kajol is a scene stealer overhere. Be it in first half, as a girl falling in love, or in second half, a married woman, getting into tricky situation, getting Alzheimer. She is always my favorite. Ajay also does justify his character. But together as ‘Hum’ they both are a treat to watch. Also tear jerker. There are a few scenes when u feel like crying. I wont tell the situation, but the scene of Ajay, drinking with friends, and telling jokes, and telling he is so selfish. And then two couple [his friends] changes their mind. The scene is so emotional. The best one among the two scenes. The second scene is the climax of course. Also the title song, U Me Aur Hum, sung by Vishal, is so much in place. So emotional also. This is the genre I just love about movies. Where I can get lump in my throat.

A must see, if you are in love. Must see if you are just married. Must see if you think your married life is going into hell. Overall Must see for all couples.

And people like me too !! who loves all mushy mushy sweet sweet imaginative world.

How many stars I would rate?? That’s 3.5 out of Five. [just because of draggy first half and bad 2 songs]

Krazzy 4 - Movie Review

I don’t want to waste my time writing review for this movie. It’s a disappointment. Though the movie is good in parts, doesn’t have any vulgur comedy [which is a trend right now], deals with a good issue of humanity, but it looks like a product made in a Munnabhai mould. Though, You can hardly laugh at moments.
I found rajpal yadav always as an eyesore. God knows, but I don’t like him. His fat humour. But still he managed to make me laugh at SOME moments. Irrfan Khan is I always look forward to. And he is good as always. Arshad is OK. Suresh Menon is good too.

But the problem with the movie is, it just can’t bind you with the story. Viewer cant get ‘into’ the story. Movie couldn’t connect with the viewer. Things happen fast and movie gets over. The storyline is of one day only. So that it makes two hour long movie [a relief]. A nice item song wasted on Rakhi sawant. SRK rocks as usual in Break free. But after all the hoopla of copying jingle of Sony ericssion ad, that song was now out of my fav list. Though it has been filmed well. SRK looks koool. Juhi chawla is also wasted in her trademark kind of role ‘bechari nari’.

Only good parts are ‘break free’ with SRK and ‘break free’ with Hrithik.

Stars ??? 2 out of 5. [Break free] I had expected so much with Rakesh’s camp. This is not that. Sorry.

Shaurya-Movie Review

Two of the finest actors, get together in one film. That was my first reason to see this movie. Rahul Bose and Kay Kay Menon. The Actors. That too, in confrontation of each other. That is a not to miss view.
Shaurya, is story revolving around Javed Khan, an army officer, who has killed his commander and a court martial is going to happen to him. Rahul Bose and Javed Jafary plays lawyers in army. Rahul Bose is playing, as always, Sophisticated silly boy. Javed is a quite surprise, playing a serious role. Minisha Lamba is a journalist of Dainik Bhaskar in Srinagar (!!!!), where all things are taking place. She is good actually. Kay Kay is Brigadier Pratap. In one of the good roles of his career maybe. Seema Biswas is also there, playing mother of accused, Javed Khan, in a forgettable role.

Starting sequence is that shootout itself. Where Javed Khan shoots his commander. Then movie goes along with Rahul Bose and Javed jafary’ lives. Which is the weakest part of movie. Though introduction scene of Rahul doing a bungee jump, is nice, but all scenes are somewhat weak. The plot gets weaker. Till things go tighter when both friends got transferred to Srinagar from Bombay, and are handed over case to fight opposite each other. Rahul is a happy go lucky guy, who suddenly has got such responsibility of saving someone’s life going into hell. He portrays that very well. Javed Khan played by Deepak Dobriyal is also damn good performance. Who keep mum through whole procedure, to find out why, there is a good climax.

Brigadier Pratap, played by Kay Kay has a powerful role. Often viewer gets tricky whether to consider him as a negative role or a powerful main lead. He has got only a few, but power scenes. Including his introduction shot. He shines in all scenes.

Procedures and investigations go places, and finally movie reaches high point that is a court martial. Rahul Bose shows a good act. But when he finally calls for Kay Kay to investigate, Kay kay steals the scene. The climax is so powerful, the court is totally silent, not even background music is there. Its like we are watching a live one. Kay kay’s final speech leaves everyone speechless. He just rule the screen, that is the scene, to watch a movie for. Just see the range of KayKay, from Honeymoon Travels to Metro to Hazaro Khwahishen aisi to this. He is the finest actor. Rahul Bose looks small against him in that scenc- though he is in positive role.

Overall, it’s a good movie, maybe inspired by A Few Good Man [I haven’t seen that], but some loopholes are there, making the movie only watchable. Worth to remember is only act of Kay Kay, though everyone has acted perfectly. Minisha is a good journo, over priety in Lakshya. Songs are just there, love ballad is good. Three songs, a relief. Care has been taken to show Army life, atmosphere, and uniforms. Those things are quite perfect. Sometimes viewer feels that this is not Srinagar, but that is forgivable keeping in mind the situation of the state.
Watch it for Kay Kay…… and Rahul too !!
