Happy Friendship Day

When to the session of sweet silent thought
I summon up remembrance of things past,
I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought,
And with old woes new wail my dear time's waste:
Then can I drown an eye, unused to flow,
For precious friends hid in death's dateless night,
And weep afresh love's long since cancelled woe,
And moan the expense of many a vanish¹d sight:
Then can I grieve at grievances foregone,
And heavily from woe to woe tell o'er
The sad account of fore-bemoaned moan,
Which I new pay as if not paid before.
But if the while I think on thee, dear friend,
All losses are restored and sorrows end.

Could we but draw back the curtain,
That surrounds each others lives,
See the naked heart and spirit;
Know what spur the action gives;
Often we would find it better,
Purer then we think we would.
We would love each other better,
If we only understood.

There's lots of thingsWith which I'm blessed,
My problems have been few,
But of all, this one's the best:
To have a friend like you.
In times of troubleFriends will say,
"Just ask, I'll help you through it."
But you don't wait for me to ask,
You just get up and do it!
And I can thinkof nothing more
That I could wisely do,Than know a friend,
And be a friend,
And have a friend like you.

I shot an arrow into the air,It fell to earth,
I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.
I breathed a song into the air,It fell to earth,
I knew not where;
For who has sight so keen and strong,
That it can follow the flight of song?
Long, long afterward, in an oakI found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend.

A day to remember, A day to ROCK (Euphoria Concert)

‘’Duniya parai chhod ke aaja…joothe saare naate tod ke aajaa..
sau rab di tujhe, ek wari aaja…ab ke mile to honge na juda…………’

Gosh ! I still can’t believe that I’ve been there and heard that ‘’LIVE’’. Palash was standing just 15 feet away from me. And he was simply ROCKING. A Euphoric song on euphoric day by none other than EUPHORIA. Yes, I’ve heard them LIVE. And that is all because of Nirmal [dear friend & colleague], I really wanna thank him. He has got only one pass of this event and has given it to me. Thanks a lot Neel……. This is a lifetime cherishable thing because of u. secondly I will thank dearest Bhaggu [God] cause he listened to my prays and unbelieveably it was a totally dry Monsoon day. It wa heavy rain on Thursday night and Saturday night was so beautiful and dry. Thank you Bhaggu.

So talking about the show, it was on 1st of July, 7:00pm. As usual [I do it in all movie shows] I reached 45 Minutes ago. At 18:15 there were only organizers. Then it was hard for me to pass the time. I was so eager to meet Euphoria. Cause they are my most admired, most favourite most….Band in indipop scene. They touches emotionally deep into me. I’m following Palash [lead singer] since his first album. I do scream and sing like him many times. Then this was a day for me to SCREAM along with HIM and whole group. I always wanted to sing his songs as LOUDEST as I can. This was the day. And I did it. I sang all songs loud & LOUD.

So … ya.. I was waiting for 7pm. Oh ….gates got opened. I rushed in and saw……..NO CHAIRS….????!!!!! But hey after all this was a ‘’rock show’’ I thought. So it will be gr8 to stand up & dance [which I hardly can].

There I was, in front of Euphoric stage. I had never seen such thing earlier. [all systems and lights wre brought by the group itself. So u can imagine how awesome it would be] I got a nearest place to stand and stuck with that. Suddenly speakers started to scream. Some DJ stuff u know. It was okay. But Oh god………I got goosebumps when they roared ‘’Ya ali!!’’……..ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh…people were like roaring, screaming. Awesome sound. Awesome lighting. They were trying them both. We waited. Nothing came up. Two couples got in front of me were good. [especially girls]. They looked good at music. So I got company. We waited but no one came up the stage. At last we got down on the lawns.

At around 19:40 a perizaad zorabian lookalike hostess greeted us. All of us were like ‘’ooohhh…yea…….ooo..’’. then she introduced Apernit Singh-India’s fastest guitarist. [!!!] here he comes. A Jal’s lead singer lookalike. With great lighting he came and striked the chords with ‘’woh lamhe’’ [original]. Awesome start. I thought. Really his vocals were also good. Then he played ‘sare jahan se achha’. Oh yeah, I got goosebumps all over again. The he played some of his own stuff. Some 2 sons. They were good. Then played filmi ones. But his show off tunes…[fastest chords] were boaring at places. After half an hour at 20:10 he thank all of us. And I thought Yeah…time has come.

But hey, not yet. Somebody came up running and told something to Guitarist and he started a new track. A track of mimicry. My heartbeats were increasing. I thought Euphoria is not coming now. And thought they will come late and will swipe it up in one hour. [but hey they ROCKED for 3 whole hours without Interval!!!]

So after 5 minutes, Apernit has gone. Hostess cameup. Spoke blah…blah……..blah…….and it was a moment. I’ve been waiting for. Yes it was. All dark stage, lighten up a little. Like a sunrise. There they were…..Benny on keyboard…..DJ on bass guitar….Hitesh on guitar….Gary on drums……. Rakesh and Prashant on Tablas…….. hen a heavy voice of Palash came………’Vakratund Mahakaya…..’’ andy hey…………………………… there he was……………came as always………..with full energy…………running on stage…….Palash Sen – the lead singer. I was looking at them like never before I ‘ve seen them. I always wanted to see this moment. There they were. In front of me. I was watching like a dream. A hard ROCK number they were playing ‘jeetnge sadaa.’ Palash rocked the stage. Jumping. People were all jumping and screaming. Then palash suddenly changed song to ‘Dhirkta dhirk dirkitidha…’ ‘ aage aage ab na thehre’’….rok sako to rok lo…..’’. Oh god, AWESOME, GREAT, he waved a flying kiss also in his own regular style…….to us…..ROCKING…EUPHORIC…AMAZING..He rocked again and again and again. [Through whole show.]

Then he welcome us. Kem chho…and all that & asked us [audience like me who were not a VIP pass holder and standing on ground] ‘’is there any problem standing?’ we said ‘no…….’ He asked ‘ladke ladkiyon ko galat jagah haath to nahin laga rahi??”’ we said ‘’no’’… he then shooted ‘ladkiyan to kahi ladkno ko pareshan nahi kar rahi??’’ We were all laughing and shouting ‘no’. then he asked ‘ kyun nahi kar rahi???!!!’’

Then all started screaming ‘’dhoom pichuk dhoom’’ So he started..tht great hit. All of us screamed with him. Sang with him. After first part of the song… he changed and sang ‘’kaise bhulegi mera naam’. And after unusual note, again started ‘dhoom’ again. Oh, it was so amazing. It was ROCK. It really was.
Then he changed mood and started my MOST FAVORITE …’TUM’ oh..divine music. He told us to hold our mobiles with klight on and wave them into air. With music. And started singing. My my………..it was watchable site. Really….’’sanson me jo …….meri baaton me jo who ho tum………..All of us were singing……
Then he went on with Summer of 69, its my life.., Dil chahta hain [audience was singing..ooo…oo ,…oo in that song’’] All were amazing. Hitesh on guitar was really Great. All were stunned by him. Amazingly ‘amdavadi’ people were asking for & singing ‘summer of 69’. I felt great that in gujarat, this kind of music is becoming so popular.
Then Palash sang Soniya….and title song ‘Mehfuz’ from the same album. Rocking, ROCKING, ROCKING. What can say?

Ya there was some fuss about the partition between VIP and our area. There was a grill….but people were pushing it to break the borders. Soon police came and all was well.

Now it was time for Nirvana. Yes , there was ‘Maaeri….’. ……………………………………………………………….No words…….this song is so special to me. I was so deep. I can forget the world around. While listening to it. Screaming along. I wished this could go on and on and on and on.

Then he sang ‘kabhi aana tu meri gully..’ and ‘mantra’ . peppy sweet song and another was a rock one. He lived them both. And then he said thanks a lot and all that stuff to Ahmedabad. At 10 pm. We thought OH NO……….IT IS OVER………but soon he brought life to us by saying….’hey its not over yet………& started a Medley of songs……….dance numbers. He started REAL ROCK and told people to raise hands & clap like we did in school gosh he sang ROCK ANTHEM…..’We will we will rock you…’ [amazingly all of us were singing it] ROCKING EXPERIENCE. Then he sang an Elvis number, summer of 69 [bhangra mix], kajarare, its my life, sharabi, and many more in line. Great fun we had in Om shanty Om. Whole ground was singing the song. SWEATING, DANCING, PUSHING, ENJOYING. THIS IS CALLED A EUPHORIA.

And then Palash took a pause. And said how great love he has got about 1.5 year ago when he came here and meanwhile some people from IIPM were screaming ‘Ab na jaa’. I also joined and scream the same. Palash then said ‘ I’ve got 37 emails requesting for the song ‘ab naa jaa’’ Great lighting Man. Soothing song. Everything was moving along. The performance was superior. Then he suddenly started medley of their songs. Dhoom, Kaise bhoolegi, Mantra,…….all of them……..also duma dum mast kalandar………dil se……….and many more……….including a parody of ZALAK DIKHLA JA……..WITH HANDS ON NOSE……………..FUN……….

MAN so energetic he is. And his colleagues. Mind blowing./ >From tables to drums…….from keyboard to guitars…….everything was rocking. Again he started ‘’SONIYA’’ From his latest album……………..and rocked much more………..LOUDER………….

Faster and faster…….and faster……………

I knew then……this was an end to Fabulous journey…….People were jumping and sweating……..panting…….screaming………enjoying……….

There comes an end………11pm…………3 hours long journey……amazing and EUPHORIC……..
EUPHORIA rocked that night…like they rocked the nation with their songs…

Really really a night to remember………always…….
In my life…..i will always remember……..that there was a night like this……….forever……..

I returned by bike …..at 11:15 pm with bad throat and STILL singing…….all songs again on bike….on the road……………………………………………………………………………………………

‘’Maaeriiiiiiiiii………………………..’’

Subhan Alllaaaahhh....

Subhan allah…

Right now I’m so much Fanaa over music, especially on title song of Fanaa. Penned by Prosoon Joshi & scored by Jatin-Lalit.

I just cant believe that J-L have changed this much. You just cant identify their music with past ones. It’s quite fresh & amazing. Earlier, I was keen on hearing this OST because of the hype created by 1st promo. Only subhan allah was there. And when I saw ‘Prasoon Joshi’ in name of lyricist, I was dying 2 purchase this album. Because Prasoon had done a rocking job in Rang de basanti & also a song from Black, made me so curious for this one. So naturally expectations were higher & thank god it got fulfilled. This is not par-excellent lyrics like Rang de.. nor lil’ bit peppy like Hum Tum. But a balanced effort. To suit environment of the movie.

Let’s come to the album. As all of us know, muvi is based in Kashmir & around Delhi. So this albim has really got a feel of the valley. Very first treack, I would say ‘’so much melodious, addictive & mind blowing. It starts of with humming of Shaan [the most fresh voice of industry today], then tunes boast of with tables & echoed sound [divine…totally] of Kailash Kher ‘’Subhan allah…’’. It doesn’t ends here, journey goes on with Sarangi [or something like that, a typical Kashmiri instrument, sorry I don’t know exact word] & ‘’valle valle…’’[as in qawwali]. U get quite surprised then, by sound of a whistle. Oh god, great start of a song, I must say. Then comes Shaan ‘’Chand sifarish jo karta humari, deta who tumko bataa ; Sharmo haya ke parde gira ke, karni hai humko to khata; Zid hai ab to hai khud ko mitanaa, hona hai tujh mein fanaa….’’

Damn good lyrics. Whole song has a qawwali feel. Its quite foot tapping too. I heard it nearly 4 times when I first got the album.

Then to parallel your expectations, comes another masterpiece. ‘’Mere Hathon Main..’’. A hauting song. Again with the word ‘’fanaa’’ in it. See, ‘’mere hath mein tera hath ho, Sari jannatein mere saath ho; tu jo paas hai, to kya yeh jahaan, tere pyaar mein ho jaoon fanaaa..’’. Again a Kashmiri feeling. Like u r roaming in snow.

Most amazing thing and a surprise of the song is Sunidhi Chauhan. She is back after Chameli. Sonu is always great but Sunidhi steals show with her great vocals. The song has got dialoguestoo from Kajol & Aamir. Song has immortal kind of feeling. Lyrics has the same feel too. And it ends with firm voice of Aamir, a dialogue. Oh lord, hold me…..

Then comes a low point [I think the only one, which may be a need of story]. ‘’Des Rangila’’ track by Mahalaxmi Iyer, is vey much reminiscent of ‘aisa des hai mera’ from Veer Zaara. Though lyrics are good, but it fails & gets noicy at some places. Mahalaxmi’s nice voice is wasted. Also mastering and recording seems dull.. I think it’ll be likeable after watching movie.

Then comes a love ballad. ‘Dekho Na’. again u get deep into music & deep into sea of love, with Sonu & Sunidhi. It’s a rainy song I think. [as yashji has in every movie, a heroine getting wet in rain]. Starts Sunidhi, ‘’Yeh Saazish hain boondon ki, koi khwahish hai chup chup si…dekho naa..dekho naa’’ then Sonu ‘’Hawa kuchh hole hole, jubaan se hai kuchh bole….kyun doori hai ab darmiyaan….dekho naa…dekho naaa….’’

How romantic? Isn’t it? Now you know, why I’m a fan of Prasoon Joshi? Song has got a mushy mushy feel. Also a rainy one. Another relief from earlier song.

Then comes a ‘kiddy’ song. Like a rhyme. ‘Chanda Chamake cham cham, chiti chate chini, cheekhe chaukanna chor’’. Just like this sentences in whole song. Sung very well by Master Akshay, Babul Supriyo, Mahalaxmi & Kajol/Aamir again. Kajol says ‘’khadak singh ke khadakne se …..’’ & Aamir says ‘’pake ped pe paka papeeta…’’. Quite fun, I had with this ong & now u’ll know from where that whistle in title song has come from.

Then comes two remixes. Not just okay. But just one level up.

Actually ‘Destroyed in Love’ is more worth. A Instrumental mixture of both haunting songs ‘mere hath mein’ & ‘dekho na’. Amazingly mixed by ‘Dhrubajyoti Phukan’. The track must be renamed as ‘’Haunted in Love’. So haunting and so likeable music.

‘Fanaa for you’ is a mix of title song ‘chand sifarish’ by DJ Aqeel, who ruined the song ‘tere liye’ from veer zaara by mixing it. But here it is quite enjoyable. Also the main song is so good that u cant deny loving remix too.

All in all, a very well crafted album. Very well contributed by all artistes. Technical quality of mastering is also good. It creates atmosphere of the valley. A must buy for a music lover.
